The Town of Ridgeland was the first railroad stop at the highest point between Savannah & Charleston and was incorporated in 1894.  Ridgeland is known for its natural beauty, low country culture, historic monuments and attractions.  Nestled right off of I-95, Ridgeland is situated between major waterways, making all types of adventures and outdoor activities easily accessible.  Natural archways created by moss draped live oak trees line many of the streets downtown and parks flow in and throughout. Called the historic "gateway" to the South Carolina low country, Ridgeland is one of the last, remaining authentic low country communities.
